Bridges test 3

Bridges: A Powerful Course Paving the Way for Fruitful Relationships with Muslims

October 23rd - November 27th, 2017

$10

All too often, we as Christians can respond to Muslims without the compassion that characterized Jesus. Bridges seeks to replace fear with love and gentle boldness, reshaping the way Christians respond to their Muslim neighbors.

Bridges focuses on similarities, not differences. Despite deep differences in Christianity and Islam, areas of overlap exist, providing common ground upon which to connect. Bridges teaches how to use similar concepts in Christianity and Islam as a bridge to understanding and open hearts.

Bridges meets you where you are. Bridges content is understandable even without much prior knowledge of Islam, and deep enough to be valuable to those seeking to build on what they already know about Muslims.

Bridges is practical and biblical. Bridges allows you to gain biblical insight into Islamic history and Muslim beliefs, while providing useful next steps and stories that help you put the teaching into practice.

Bridges is widely used and respected. From full-time missionaries to informal small-groups, Bridges is a trusted resource for thousands of Christians globally, and comes strongly recommended by respected Christian leaders.

The Bridges Course will be taught over 7 consecutive weeks. Depending on the number of attendees, location will be determined at a later date. You will be notified when a decision is made on location.

The $10 registration fee covers course materials and refreshments.

Class will meet at the church offices (1613 Southcross West Drive, Burnsville).

Women's Prayer Retreat

October 27th - October 28th, 2017

You're Invited!

When we become a Christian, our identity changes. But because we live on this sinful earth sometimes we forget who we are. We go through life just trying to survive the things that happen to us forgetting that we are more than our age, our situation, or our season in life. When we ask ourselves, “Who am I?” it’s easy to give the “Christianese” answer of “I’m a daughter of God”. But do we really understand what that means? What would life look like if we really understood and remembered our true identity? How would our lives change if we not only remembered and understood our identity but took it a step further and really lived it?

So what is our true identity? It boils down to this: We are IN HIM. We are in God-or have a relationship with God-by God’s power. We see all over the Bible the blessings that we receive because we are in Him. We are in Christ. All of the wonderful things that were accomplished by Christ’s death on the cross are given to us. We belong to him. We are safe in him. That is mind blowing and difficult to understand at times, let alone live.

In Ephesians 1:3-14 we see that when we become a Christian, we receive a new identity. Not only are we loved by God, but we are chosen by God. We are adopted by God. Our lives and circumstances are redeemed by God. Our past sins, our current sins and our future sins are all forgiven by God. We have a purpose for our lives in God. We have an inheritance for our future in God. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit by God.

So let’s ask the question again. What if we lived like our identity of being IN HIM and all the blessings that come with it?

Join us October 27-28th as we do just that. Join us as we not only learn about our identity of being IN HIM and the blessings that come along with it, but we also learn more about the amazing person God who would chose us.

Money and the gospel

Money and the Gospel

October 29th - November 5th, 2017

Money and the Gospel is a four week introduction to learning and applying the implications of the gospel to money. The gospel transforms everything and therefore our priorities shift in regards to money as we align all of our lives with God’s mission and purposes.

Join us in taking those next steps towards stewarding money well as we look at how to view money, priorities, spending, and budgeting through the lens of the gospel. You will develop a budget as well as have the opportunity to meet individually (as a couple if married) with a financial counselor who will help you develop and implement your plan.

Waldean Wall is a member of Sovereign Grace Church who teaches the Money and The Gospel Course on Sunday mornings. He is a national speaker for the financial planning industry. 2013 11 10child dedication

Child Dedication

November 5th, 2017

It’s exciting whenever a new child enters a family. There’s no greater moment when parents sense that children are a gift from God. In these joyful moments, Jesus’ church has the privilege of joining with parents to express their dependence on God through a child dedication.

Dedicating a child acknowledges God’s sovereignty not only over the child, but also dad and mom. Parents present their child before God and his people asking for grace and wisdom in carrying out their responsibilities. Parents also come praying that their child might one day trust Jesus Christ as their Savior for the forgiveness of sin.

NexGen Parents Prayer and Care

November 15th, 2017

The NexGen youth ministry exists to partner with parents in raising up the next generation of disciples who delight in, display, and declare the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.

Partnering with parents to disciple their youth into a relationship with Christ means equipping parents (Ephesians 4:11-12) to know how to disciple their youth (Ephesians 6:4). While your kids are at NexGen Wednesday Worship, join Pastor Rick and Pastor Jon for an evening of prayer for our kids, care for one another, and discipleship equipping.

All parents of youth are encouraged to come. Light refreshments will be provided.

Please RSVP to help us with refreshment orders.

We're meeting at Pastor Rick Gamache's house (213 Burncrest Court, Burnsville, 55337).
